Session VIII: Semantic Enterprise Data
Session Organizers:
- Juan Sequeda, Capsenta
- Sharon Brener, data.world
Abstract:
This interactive session will be presented by two Austin-based startups, Capsenta and data.world, together with audience participation .
We will start by collecting from the audience issues with managing Enterprise Data and how they believe semantic technologies can address the raised issues. Then, we will present their different perspectives of how they are bringing semantics into the enterprise.
Capsenta will discuss how to focus on the decision makers looking to build standardized use-case driven sources of truth for business problems and providing an agile methodology and tools to easily introduce non-semantic users to semantic technology. data.world will talk about how they focus on modeling the essence of what data work is, to inform a user interface that connects with mainstream data workers, and give a window into their work that can help formalize a representation of the knowledge implicit in that work, iteratively.
We will conclude with a QA session where we will go reflect on the raised issues and discuss as a group about the proposed approaches and future opportunities.
